Cumberland PotThis reconstructed pot was found at the Cumberland Site (18CV171) in Calvert County, Maryland. The Cumberland Site is a Late Woodland village site occupied by American Indians as late as the 1500s. Thousands of other artifacts in addition to the pottery were found at the site including stone spear points and arrowheads, terra-cotta tobacco pipe fragments, oyster shells, fish bones, and turtle shell.
