Archeology GalleryGlass bottle seal
|
This glass object was once an integral part of a round glass bottle. Seals such as these were affixed to the bottles at the time of manufacture. Our example has a depiction of a stags head and bears the initials "TB." This type of seal is usually associated with an individual of some wealth or with a more institutional type of establishment such as an inn. A very similar example was found in London in the 1950s and has been tentatively associated with an inn located there. |
