Archeology GalleryFacion de Venice glassware
|
The best table glassware produced in Europe in the 17th century came from Venice, Italy. Produced on the island of Murano, facion de Venice or Venetian glassware included many fanciful forms and shapes, often incorporating spirally elements know as dragon stems. This type of glassware speaks to a very wealthy individual and was generally quite rare on colonial sites.
