The Maryland
Archeology Month Poster Contest was initiated to involve and educate students in grades 4
through 8 about the importance of archeology. The contest draws participants statewide and
culminates with an award ceremony at the State House in Annapolis. Place Winners receive a
Certificate of Achievement, a United States Savings Bond, an archeology T-shirt, and one-day
participation at the Annual Field Session in Maryland Archeology. The posters of the Place
Winners, Honorable Mentions, and other selected entries are prominently displayed on the
Freedom Wall at the State House during
Archeology Month
in April.
