Students working at the Annual Field SessionThe Student Scholarship Award provides an opportunity for students to participate in the Annual Field Session in Maryland Archeology. Each year eight scholarships are offered for the Field Session. The selected students may choose to attend any number of days from one to eleven. Students participate in a broad range of fieldwork activities, receive instruction in the methods of archeology, have an opportunity to work with professional archeologists, and help recover important archeological information from sites within the state.

To qualify, a student must: 1) be a sophomore, junior, or senior in high school; 2) be 16 years old by the date of the Field session; 3) have good academic and disciplinary standing at their school; 4) have written approval of a parent(s) and school Principal; and 5) complete the application and registration package available upon request. The deadline for application submittals vary depending on the Field Session dates. For additional information and application package contact Greg Roepke at 410-258-3270.
